A Moment of Silence

Crickets humming...

Insects buzzing...

My ears are ringing,

with thoughts in my mind swirling.

I'm singing a song,

and I wonder to whom it belongs.

Pouring my heart out with every word,

expressing the feelings I kept untold.

I'm not that good at words,

forgive me for being cold.

This mask I wear,

hides the feelings I continue to bear.

I thank God for this moment of silence.

In this state of noiselessness, I find peace and happiness.

My soul seeks for solace,

I find it in a moment of silence.
